Lauren and John - 13 June 2009

On June 13th, I was able to assist and second shoot for Jan of Jan Michele Photography at Lauren and John's beautiful wedding celebration. My favorite part of any wedding day is probably the getting ready portion. It is so fun to watch the bride (or groom) in anticipation of her (or his) special day. Being able to capture that genuine excitement (among the couple, their friends, and family members) is a true treat. You can take a look below at some of those moments leading up to the ceremony...

Twins!!

I was so excited back in April when my friend and former classmate Michelle, owner of Fredricks Photography, asked me to come along to a newborn shoot she was doing for her friend's twin boys, Gabriel (on the left in the first image) and Tristan (on the right in the first image). I was able to snap a few shots myself and wanted to share some with you below. These guys are fantastic models and I can't wait to photograph them again, hopefully later this summer.

Look at those gorgeous smokey blue eyes!

Both Mom and Dad were so patient throughout the shoot! Here's the boys' mom, below, just glowing.

And their Dad has a great sense of humor (see below - need I say more?).

Thank you, Lucia and Jeremy, for inviting me into your home to capture these precious moments with your beautiful family!!

Wedding Season

I have been assisting and second shooting for Muriel Silva at a couple of weddings since April. She has several more weddings booked throughout the rest of the year that I plan to be helping her with. Muriel also graduated from CDIA, but in the class before mine. I love her photojournalistic style and we have a great time working together! Here are some details I shot from the couple of weddings I've helped her with so far. Stay tuned for more in the coming months...

I loved the vibrant colors from this wedding back in April at the Mandarin Oriental in D.C.

And here are some detail shots below from the May wedding I helped Muriel with:

This couple had a great candy bar for all of their guests at the reception - such a fun idea!

I am the worst blogger ever...

So it has been quite some time since I've posted any pictures, but hopefully I will be better at that in the future!! These images are from a shoot I did back in April with Marshala and her beautiful daughters, Alexandra and Kamora. Kamora was a little camera shy at first, but she warmed up after a little bit, especially with her big sister's help! We had a gorgeous morning at Locust Shade Park in Triangle, VA - sunny, clear blue skies, and NO humidity (not sure if I can exactly remember what that feels like after this week!). Enjoy!

Alexandra loved the camera...and the camera loved her!
